Most people would balk at the idea of any sort of commitment after knowing someone for such a short time. Nevertheless, that is precisely what is expected of employers and candidates: to spend two to four hours in telephone and face-to-face interviews, to perhaps go out for a drink with the team and then agree to a long-term commitment to spend most of their waking hours working together.
